Southminster Presbyterian Church
2009 Annual Report from the Capital Campaign Committee
The Capital Campaign was officially started in December, 2008. The goal was to raise awareness of and raise funds for a second phase project – which has been tentatively projected as the addition of a Family Life Center to the existing structure. As has been reported previously – several people eagerly joined in planning the campaign which included: a 24-hour prayer vigil, sermon series led by Pastor Greg & Jim Capps, table tents for prayer & meditation, a letter explaining the campaign goals, and culminating in a evening dinner celebrating the pledges in March, 2009.
Despite what we would all agree was a very tough economic climate, the generous friends and neighbors of Southminster pledged about $280,000 over a three-year period to the Phase II project. Everyone associated with the campaign considered that a true “Praise the Lord” result!
Since that time, we have sent out one reminder letter to those that have pledge to help coordinate between what was pledge and what has been donated to date. More reminder letters will be sent throughout the remaining two years of the campaign, as well as including the donations in your annual giving reports for tax purposes.
Reciepts as of 12/27/2009 are $49,096.70
We still feel that this effort was a great success, and that God has richly blessed us during this time. As we have seen first hand the first phase completion and what a blessing that has brought to our church - especially the outreach ministry of the child care facility. We ask that you continue to keep this campaign in your prayers, and that we all ask for God’s continued blessing on our future ministry efforts.
Sincerely,
The Capital Campaign
