"It is the duty of the deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith." The Board of Deacons (see the Officers and Staff link in the left sidebar) serves in the areas of member care, benevolence, and Sunday service.


Each deacon has taken responsibility to care for a portion of the congregation, based on the letter of the alphabet with which the member's last name begins. For 2009 the deacon assignments are as follows:

Stephen Ministry

Our Stephen Ministers are currently studying, “Caring for the Aging”. Our Stephen Ministers are lay people equipped to provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. (For example: people experiencing grief, divorce, loneliness, job loss, hospitalization, and other life difficulties.) If you know of someone who could benefit from Stephen Ministry please feel free to contact either Dave Green, John Rockey, or one of the pastors of the church. The ministry is confidential. The identity and subject matter of the ministry remains private between the care receiver and the care giver.
