Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations
Mark Your Calendars!
In February and March 2011, the Southminster congregation will begin a study of the Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations.

(Read the Circuit Rider review.)
February 6 | Radical Hospitality
February 13 | Passionate Worship
February 20 | Intentional Faith Development
February 27 | Risk-Taking Mission and Service
March 6 | Extravagant Generosity
Our ministry leaders have already begun this challenging study to help the congregation maximize our fruitfulness! The study will include a series of sermons by Pastor Greg and Ron, and a series of small group meetings to help us personalize the call to grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ.
I invite your prayerful consideration of the following questions as we continue to prepare our hearts for the Holy Spirit's leading.
- What constitutes "baseline health" in these five practices for a fruitful disciple of Jesus? Inviting and welcoming one new family into the congregation each year? Worshiping weekly (for 1 hour, or 1/168th of our week)? Participating in one study group each week? Spending one day each month (approximately 1/30th) in service to our neighbors? Giving a tenth of our net worth away every decade?
- What will make our Christian life-practice radical, passionate, intentional, risk-taking, and extravagant?
- How do we encourage others, especially our children, to follow the same path of discipleship?
Help us find answers this winter!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Greg
