What Membership MEANS

Membership means that you have made a public commitment:

• To Believe ... to trust and follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
• To Participate ... in the fellowship and life of Southminster.
• To Support ... the Mission and Vision of the church.

Our Mission: To be a living witness for Jesus Christ, making disciples both near and far.

Our Vision: We will be a vibrant, family oriented church that provides multigenerational opportunities for worship, spiritual growth, service and fellowship. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we will reach out to meet the spiritual and physical needs of all peoples in our church, our community and beyond. We will be passionate about our faith and our church, supporting and holding each other accountable so that all our actions bring glory to God.

Membership REQUIREMENTS

• Public Profession of Faith
• Baptism (in a Christian church)

Membership RESPONSIBILITIES

1. proclaiming the good news,
2. taking part in our common life and worship,
3. praying and studying Scripture and the faith,
4. supporting the ministries of the church (giving money, time, and talents),
5. participating in governing responsibilities (voting, being an officer, taking part in Town Halls),
6. demonstrating a new quality of life, reflecting a consciousness of life’s purpose and meaning,
7. service to others,
8. living responsibly in relationships,
9. working in the world for peace, justice, freedom, and human fulfillment.
