Consent Agenda Approved:

• Approved the Minutes of the Regular Session Meeting of October 11, 2011
• Received the Financial Report for October 2011
• Session Policy for Removal of Members. The roll of active members shall be reviewed annually by the Clerk of Session. Upon determination by the Clerk that an active member has failed to attend worship on the Lord's Day for the period of a full year (1st year), the Clerk shall determine whether the member has participated in the work and worship of the congregation in some other manner. If the Clerk finds no evidence of participation by the member in any aspect of the life of the congregation, the Clerk shall notify the Session of the lack of participation and shall send the member a letter encouraging renewed participation and offering the option of requesting removal from membership. After the period of another year (2nd year), the Clerk shall notify the member that he or she will be removed from the rolls after the additional period of one month (the conclusion of the 2-year process + required written notification) if active participation has not resumed. In every case communication shall include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to encourage a prompt response. The Clerk of Session may consult with a membership review committee to assist with the review of the membership rolls, which committee shall consist of three members: the Clerk of Session, a pastor, and an at-large member of the congregation appointed by the Clerk. Rockey, Roger Walter] If the Clerk, in consultation with the membership review committee, determines that a person has participated in the life of the congregation in some way other than worship on the Lord's Day, the Clerk shall bring the matter to the attention of the Session.

Deliberation Agenda:

• Session received a report by Loving Hearts Learning Place guests: Charlotte Chapel, Starla Hilgert, and Kathy Walter.
• Prayer and Discussion of Chapter 8, Leadership Essentials
• Session review and discussed the 2012 Budget objectives: 1) Hear updates regarding conversations with committee chairs and revisions of 1st draft budget; 2) statements of questions and concerns by elders; 3) additional steps necessary prior to adoption of a budget in December.
• Session received an update from Personnel on the transition to a church with pastor and associate pastor. Discussion of pastoral division of labor. (What needs to be communicated to the wider church and by whom?) Approval of Job Descriptions and salary range for Administrative Assistant and Children's Ministry Director positions.
