Music & Worship Committee Report by Tom Young (chairperson)

As of Aug. 2009, I accepted the chair of Music & Worship committee. My first realization was how difficult it was going to be to fill the shoes of Don & Terri Rockey who occupied the position previously. I personally thought they did a great job. I liked their Music & Worship article on the web page so much that I adopted it as my own.

The few events that took place in 2009 were Contemporary/Praise service we had in August, the celebration service in Sept. with added bass and drums, Advent Drama, and the Christmas Eve Service.

Some of the duties that I have found were to, find, coordinate and schedule liturgists, pick hymns, design/coordinate a Christmas Eve Service with the help of a few core people, and any other task that might appear.

My hopes for 2010, is to continue down this same path, hoping to introduce different ideas/meanings through dramas, music, and video clips, and to utilize the hidden talents that we have in our church body.
