Hello Everyone - Happy 4th of July! Here are the activities that are planned with the Silver Flashes for July. I've been asked to send the calendar, but am at work and will have to send it under separate cover. Thanks for sharing - Becky

Is the heat keeping you captive indoors? Are you looking for things to do throughout the day? Then consider attending some of the Silver Flashes activities planned throughout the month of July.

Euchre is being played each Wednesday morning at Zion United Church of Christ, 8921 E. Troy Avenue, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Everyone is having a good time, and we are seeing new faces. All are welcome to come and join in for this activity. Please note there will be no euchre on Wednesday, July 27 due to everyone being at the monthly program at Garfield Park.
The monthly luncheon and program will be on Wednesday, July 27. We will not be having this at Zion this month, as the group decided they wanted to tour the Sunken Gardens at Garfield Park with Garfield Park Advanced Master Gardener, Boynton Robson. We will be leaving Zion's parking lot at 9:30, and joining Boynton at 10:00. After the tour, the group will be going to Sister's Place Restaurant, 215 Terrace Avenue, for lunch. R.S.V.P.'s should be called in to Becky Burgess-Osher (891-0312) by Sunday, July 24. Please note the gym will be closed on this day due to everyone being at the "outing".

Open gym is available each Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Zion for walking and fellowship. Coffee, tea and refreshments are available. The air is on and this is a great opportunity to get your walking in without the concern for the extreme heat. Please note the Open Gym will be closed Monday, July 4 and Wednesday, July 27.

Euchre is played every 2nd and 3rd Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, 8936 Southeastern Avenue. They are always happy to see new players.

The July freewill offering dinner for Acton United Methodist Church will be held at Southeastway Park on Wednesday, July 20 due to the building being set up and prepared for their annual Garage Sale. This will be a "pitch-in picnic". For more information, contact the church office at 862-2588.
