STEP ONE: ASK…
What does it mean to ask God?
Clear your mind of fears, personal opinions, and preconceived notions.
Ask yourself, does God love me? Does God know my real situation and true condition? Faith means trust. So clear your mind of all things that do not trust God.
Promise yourself you will joyfully and willingly respond to any guidance you believe is coming from God’s influence.
Go quiet and send your question to “the Presence” of God. Wait until in calmness, thoughts begin to form in your mind. Check thoughts for deep and quiet and caring clarity. When the thoughts stop bouncing around and feel solid and true…go for it.
Ask, what would you like me to give in support of your church this year?
STEP TWO: GIVE…
The decision is yours. It is what is in your heart and what comes to you in the calm and thoughtful time you spend with God. Each person, each family is unique in God’s eyes and the decision will be yours. You trust in God and he gives you the power to make the right decision.
Whether you tithe or whether you give what you can, the gift is not judged but only rejoiced.
STEP THREE: REJOICE.
Rejoice that your financial resources will touch the lives of those within our church community. Rejoice that the music, messages and meaningful relationships made possible with your giving will multiply and be a gift to many. Rejoice because you have found your sweet spot and your heart has given the real gift – your life, your faith in God.
