Report of the Women's Association of Southminster Presbyterian Church 2009

The Women's Association of Southminster is open to all of the women who attend our church. We encourage you to join in the ministry and fellowship that we enjoy together. Here is a summary of the events of 2009:
There was a brunch in January to plan for the new year. The ladies brought books to donate to Loving Hearts Learning Place.

Bible Studies that were offered were Life Lessons From Women in the Bible by Rhonda Harrington Kelley and A Grand New Day by Margaret Feinberg.

We had a retreat at McCormick's Creek State Park on April 24 and 25. The theme was Faith Journey and our theme verse was Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.".

We had a Spring Banquet for women on May 6th. It was held at Southport Presbyterian Church. The theme was Stepping Into Spring and we were entertained by talented young dancers.

In June, a shower was held for Loving Hearts Learning Place.

We organized a baseball outing for the men & boys in July.

The Women's Association Basket Auction which happens every two years was held in November. It was a great success thanks to the many basket makers and generous bidders.

We would like to thank the many women and men who have helped to make these events successful.
