Faces of Faith, Adult Sunday School Class for June 2010
During June, the adult Sunday school class will be viewing video interviews with four 20th Century religious leaders, authors, and recognized scholars. Desmond Tutu, Frederick Buechner, Marian Wright Edelman, and Parker Palmer span the theological spectrum from Anglican Priest, through Quaker and Presbyterian, conservative and liberal. They pose and answer such questions as why do we worship, what is faith, what do you expect God to do when you are really miserable? What about faith versus works? What about all the challenges facing parents today and what are we supposed to do and feel about the poor? What about death and dying, or death and redemption, which do we fear most? What is sin and what does it do to us? Who gets hurt when we sin? When do you get your greatest inspirations? Each video is 25 minutes and will be followed by a 15 minute question and answer session. Absolutely no preperation is necessary. Please join us and bring your friends in the upper hall, education wing, 2nd room on the left.
