Following many, many months of planning, work and much prayer, Loving Hearts Learning Place Child Care Ministry and Preschool opened on August 10, 2009. We opened with twelve staff members and 22 children; at year's end we have more than doubled our enrollment to over fifty registered children!

Southminster Presbyterian Church 2009 Annual Report from the Capital Campaign Committee
The Capital Campaign was officially started in December, 2008. 2009 Annual Report from the BUILDING & GROUNDS Committee

Well, it has been a great year for B&G in 2009. A lot of items on our “To Do” List were accomplished:
- The restrooms were renovated
- The windows were replaced
- The drainage issues were corrected
- Kitchen appliances removed or replaced
- Etc., Etc.

The Women's Association of Southminster is open to all of the women who attend our church. We encourage you to join in the ministry and fellowship that we enjoy together. Here is a summary of the events of 2009:
There was a brunch in January to plan for the new year. The ladies brought books to donate to Loving Hearts Learning Place.
Bible Studies that were offered were Life Lessons From Women in the Bible by Rhonda Harrington Kelley and A Grand New Day by Margaret Feinberg.
Music and Worship Annual Report, January 2010

As of Aug. 2009, I accepted the chair of Music & Worship committee. My first realization was how difficult it was going to be to fill the shoes of Don & Terri Rockey who occupied the position previously. I personally thought they did a great job. I liked their Music & Worship article on the web page so much that I adopted it as my own.
The few events that took place in 2009 were Contemporary/Praise service we had in August, the celebration service in Sept. with added bass and drums, Advent Drama, and the Christmas Eve Service.
