Garden project and proceeds update
Submitted by Janet Ingle on Wed, 08/12/2009 - 17:20The garden project is keeping a few of us very busy. If you don't know the location of the garden it is on the Marlin farm at 5252 Hickory Road, just around the corner from the church. Each week these few people do the picking on Friday and transport the proceeds to our vegetable stand in front of Southminster for sale on Saturday. Our most popular items are corn, greenbeens, and tomatoes. We are in need of helpers to pick and to work in the stand on Saturday mornings. Produce we do not sell are taken to a Adult and Child Center on Emerson. If you can help call Janet 889-7852.
The Garden Project
Submitted by Janet Ingle on Wed, 08/12/2009 - 17:14Southminster's garden project is up and running, offering corn, tomatoes, greenbeans, cabbage, melons, cucumbers, summer squash, zuccini, beets, onions and pototoes. We will have pumpkins in time for Halloween. Our produce stand is open here at Southminster every Saturday morning from 9 AM - 1 PM. Always, always we are in need of volunteers to work the produce stand on Saturdays and to help with the picking, weeding, and some planting.
