On November 1, we remember with thanksgiving the lives of all those who, having lived this life in faith, now live eternally with God. It is our tradition at Southminster to offer this prayer in worship on the Sunday prior to All Saints Day, calling aloud the names of those whose loss we feel most deeply in our Prayers of the People. On All Saints Day we offer this prayer publicly online, so that those who wish to do so can participate and celebrate the day with prayer. We invite the submission of names here that should be included in our thanksgiving prayers.

We thank you, Lord God, for brave and believing people who brought your message to this place. Let us not forget them, especially Rev. Dr. R. H. (“Bill”) Duke and the founding members of Southminster Presbyterian Church. By their energies this church was gathered, given order, and continued. Remembering all those Christians who have gone before us, may we follow as they followed, in the way, truth, and life of Jesus Christ, the head of the church.
